Paulina Archambault

Paulina Archambault is a Polish-born contemporary artist living and working in Virginia, USA. She studied painting and drawing in Poland before earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Applied Sciences for Design (Fachhochschule für Gestaltung) in Hamburg, Germany.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas and paper, Archambault is known for her expressive portraits and figurative works. Fascinated by the human face and its ability to convey emotion, she uses bold gestural mark-making, large brushes, and intuitive techniques to create works that are energetic, immediate, and deeply human.
Her practice centres on capturing emotion rather than realism, allowing each painting to develop organically until it achieves its intended expression. While portraiture remains central to her work, she also explores figurative and still-life subjects across a range of scales.
